Events all year round in Bournemouth for 2010 - Things to do in Bournemouth

Vvisitors wishing to take a break from Bournemouth beach there are many other activities and places within the city and in the surrounding areas. Here are few of the things to do while visiting Bournemouth :

Bournemouth Eye- One of the hotpots is the Bournemouth Eye that takes you up to 500ft above Bournemouth where you can experience the thrill of intense panoramic views over the British channel and surrounding area for up to 20 miles.

The Ocenarium - Close to Bournemouth pier, the Oceanarium was the first visitor attraction in Bournemouth to be awarded VAQAS status -  Take an underwater adventure around the waters of the world and come face to face with hundreds of awesome creatures.
Home to all your favourites from flamboyant clownfish and tiny terrapins, to stunning sharks and the infamous piranha. Immerse yourself in a sea of colour, with 10 spectacular recreated environments

Bournemouth Surf Reef - Boscombe’s long-awaited surf reef is now ready for use!

The RNLI recently undertook their training (Sunday 1st November 2009) and following this, it was just a case of waiting for the right weather to declare the reef officially open.

Jon Weaver, Marketing and Events Manager for Bournemouth Tourism said, “For once, the weather appears to be on our side. Almost no sooner than the RNLI have completed their training, the final stage we had to go through before we could launch, the swell is perfect – decent waves, around eight seconds apart with a gentle breeze. We couldn’t miss this opportunity so took the decision this morning at 10.30 to launch the reef

The New Forest National Park - It remains largely unchanged with miles and miles of unspoilt ancient landscapes, wild ponies and deer, disused railways and leafy lanes
