Your Civil Ceremony or Partnership
Our hotel offers two licensed ceremony rooms, each filled with warmth, character, and natural daylight.
The Conservatory Restaurant
The larger of our two ceremony rooms, offering beautiful sea views and an elegant setting. Perfect for larger weddings, it can accommodate up to 190 guests.
The Britannic Suite
Tastefully decorated and full of charm, the Britannic Suite is ideal for intimate weddings and can accommodate up to 70 guests.
Civil ceremonies usually last around 30 minutes, depending on your requirements. If you choose to hold your ceremony at The Riviera Hotel, it is your responsibility to book the registrar. Ceremonies can be personalised with your own music selections and readings, although we recommend checking with the registrar regarding current guidelines.
Once the ceremony is complete, guests will be escorted to our main bar while the wedding breakfast room is prepared. This provides the perfect opportunity for those all-important photographs on the beach or within the beautiful Alum Chine gardens. Once preparations are complete, guests will be invited into the wedding breakfast room.
Any decorations supplied by the bride and groom will be set up by our hotel team on the day and used throughout the celebrations. Coloured chair sashes are also available at an additional cost.

The Riviera Hotel offers three carefully designed wedding packages, or alternatively, you can create a bespoke package tailored to your individual requirements.
The Riviera Signature Package

- One glass of bubbly for the toast
- Bridal suite for the bride and groom (including breakfast)

The Riviera Classic Package
- Arrival drinks reception: Buck's Fizz, Pimms & Lemonade, or Summer/Winter Punch
- Three-course wedding breakfast
- One glass of wine with the meal
- One glass of bubbly for the toast
- Evening function suite with private bar
- Choice of Classic Evening Buffet (6 options), Deli Grazing Table, or Indian Buffet
- Bridal suite for the bride and groom (including breakfast)
- Complimentary chair covers (sashes 50p each)
The Riviera Elegant Package
- Arrival drinks reception: Buck's Fizz, Pimms & Lemonade, Prosecco, or Pink Cava
- Choice of three canapés
- Three-course wedding breakfast
- Two glasses of wine with the meal
- One glass of bubbly for the toast
- Evening function suite with private bar
- Choice of Classic Evening Buffet (7 options), Deli Grazing Table, or Indian Buffet
- Complimentary chair covers (sashes 50p each)

All-day guests will have the evening buffet included when choosing either the Classic or Elegant Package. Additional evening guests can be added at an additional cost.
